Decatur – James N. Bragg, 69, of Decatur went home to Jesus at 12:13 a.m. on Thursday May 27, 2010 at Fair Haven Christian Home, Decatur.

 

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 28, 2010 at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion.  A Vigil Prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.  Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 29, 2010 in Point Pleasant Cemetery, Long Creek.  Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.  Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.dawson-wikoff.com.

James was born on September 24, 1940 in Piatt County, Illinois the son of Walter and Laura (Evans) Bragg.  He was a certified mechanic all of his life before retiring from Bob Brady in Decatur.  After retiring he worked for the conservation department part-time.  He married his life-long love Virginia (Jenny) M. Biggs on March 2, 1960.

What James enjoyed most was spending time with his wife Jenny, his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  He also enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing.

Surviving is his wife of 50 years: Virginia (Jenny) of Decatur; children: Carol Williams (husband: Lynn) of Shelbyville, James J. Bragg (wife: Kathryn) of Decatur, Jeff Bragg (wife: Veronica) of Danville, and Connie Bragg (Randy Scott) of Decatur; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; father-in-law: Joseph Biggs of Decatur; sisters: Neoma Sparks of Atwood, Viola Case of Ivesdale, and Virginia Brady of Tolono; sister-in-law: Mary Beth Garner (husband: Bill); brothers-in-law: Thomas Biggs (wife: Cheryl) and James Biggs (wife: Darlene).

James was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, a sister, mother-in-law and a sister-in-law.
